Our Roots: Where We Come From
Darrick founded AFP to improve the lending experience for small, medium, and fast-growing businesses. Darrick’s lending expertise developed during his 27-year career with Wells Fargo Bank where he rose to Senior Vice President with dual roles as Director of Small Business and Director of Diversity for the Rocky Mountain Region. Additionally, he served on Wells Fargo’s National Small Business Task Force, focusing on diverse Chambers of Commerce.
Because of his background, Darrick became sought after as an expert working with small businesses seeking to expand their capacity in order to support primary contractors on mega government contracts. For many businesses, they can close the contract, but not fulfill it because they don’t have the pathways to access the funding they need to complete work before contractual payments come in.
Darrick and his team apply the same business assessments used to evaluate government contractor financing capacity to clients who apply through Alternative Funding Partners. With a detailed evaluation of assets, resources, cash flow, and business planning, we are able to find a pathway to funding, even when previous lenders have said, “No.”
