Our Roots: Where We Come From
The short and sweet of it is that our founders saw a business need. They believed they were uniquely positioned to satisfy that need better than anyone else. And so Alternative Funding Partners was born.
Of course, there is more to the story. Tom and Darrick had worked together for many years managing different departments at Wells Fargo, one of America’s largest banks. After they left Wells Fargo – Tom to serve as CMO of a real estate lending firm, and Darrick to lead an alternative loan brokerage – they stayed in close touch.
Years later, they began to discuss what a perfect alternative funding solution would look like. Their experiences in one of America’s banking behemoths, combined with their work with smaller commercial loan brokerages, showed them that there was a huge need in the market place for a trustworthy firm that could combine capital sourcing, broker training, and marketing.
They developed a vision for the perfect commercial loan brokerage, created the lending network to back its offerings, and Alternative Funding Partners was launched.
